Originally a Royal Air Force bomber station during World War II, it was transformed into a racing circuit in 1948, hosting the first-ever Formula 1 World Championship race in 1950. Silverstone is situated approximately 90 minutes north of London by car, just outside the small market town of Towcester, Northamptonshire. The circuit is easily accessible by various modes of transport:

  • By Car/Motorcycle: Silverstone is about a 90-minute drive north of London, so transport links are excellent.

  • By Train: Journeys to Milton Keynes train station take less than an hour from London and Birmingham and under two hours from Nottingham and Manchester. From Milton Keynes, you can take a pre-paid designated shuttle bus to the circuit, which drops you 2 minutes from the gates. The shuttle bus costs £15 per person for a return ticket.

  • By Plane: The nearest airport is London Luton, approximately 50 miles away, followed by London Heathrow and Birmingham airports. From these airports, you can hire a car or use public transport to reach the circuit.

  • Roving Access: On Friday, GA ticket holders can access covered grandstands such as Abbey B, Becketts, Club Corner, and Hamilton Straight A.

  • Uncovered Grandstands: On Saturday and Sunday, GA holders can access uncovered grandstands, including Abbey A, Hamilton Straight B, Vale, Village A, and Silverstone Six.

  • Family-Friendly: Children under 11 enter for free; under 16s receive a 50% discount.
