The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, located in Misano Adriatico, Italy, is a premier motorsport venue renowned for its rich history and modern facilities. Originally opened in 1972 as the Autodromo di Santamonica, the circuit has undergone several renovations to meet international racing standards. In 2012, it was renamed to honor the late MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli, a local hero.

1972: The circuit was inaugurated, initially hosting national and regional races.
1985–1987: Misano hosted the San Marino Motorcycle Grand Prix, marking its entry into the international racing scene.
1993: The track was extended to 4.060 km, and the first Italian Grand Prix was held here, featuring a notable accident involving Wayne Rainey.
2007: After significant upgrades, Misano returned to the MotoGP calendar, hosting the San Marino Grand Prix.
2011: The circuit was renamed in memory of Marco Simoncelli, who tragically passed away during the Malaysian Grand Prix.
